Placements and Training
GPCET has a dedicated Placement and Training Officer who actively encourages students to gain relevant work experience through summer or full-semester internships or semester-long placements.
The college also provides guidance to help prepare students for the rigorous recruitment and selection procedures used by employers. Students who receive relevant training from the Careers and Employability Center (CEC) tend to fare better in the campus recruitment process, as they can demonstrate greater skills, competencies, strengths, and experiences.
The college has consistently improved its placement record, with more than 75% of students being placed in various reputed organizations. The Placement and Training Center (PAT) and Careers and Employability Center (CEC) play a pivotal role in building the careers of aspiring engineers, enabling them to hone their skills and reach their desired goals. The college’s industry-institute interactions have been instrumental in attracting renowned MNCs to the campus for recruitment drives.
GPCET maintains good relations with corporate houses and other prestigious institutions, making it a perfect host for educationists and entrepreneurs. The Placement team works round the year to ensure successful and respectable placements with esteemed organizations.

Objectives:
- To place final year students in respectable organizations through campus recruitment.
- To provide industrial training to students during their course of study.
- To organize lectures, seminars, group discussions, mock interviews, etc. for career guidance, entrepreneurship, and personality development.
- To provide information and assistance to students regarding opportunities for self-employment and job opportunities in India and abroad.
- To provide opportunities for higher studies in India and abroad.
- To prepare students for competitive examinations like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, GATE, CAT, etc.
Responsibilities:
- To facilitate, coordinate, and administer training programs.
- To prepare an annual calendar for training and skills upgrading.
- Enhancing the placement segment by arranging Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), seminars, workshops, and internship programs.
- Creating a stand-alone facility for placements, specializing in making MOUs with industries.
- Creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies for placement and training.
- Networking with major employers in companies and building relationships.
- Creating a database for companies and students.
- Coordinating with other engineering colleges and educational institutions for resource sharing in the field of training needs.
- Assisting, guiding, and supporting HR practices and participating in conferences/seminars to promote HR practices.
- Acting as a counselor and coordinator.
